NIR-absorbing material for stray light control – LiDAR, machine vision and sensor development
Black to the eye is not black to a sensor. Most black materials look dark in visible light but reflect considerably more strongly in the near infrared – exactly the range where LiDAR, Time-of-Flight cameras, driver monitoring and machine vision operate. The difference is invisible to the human eye. It shows up in the measurement data.
Musou Black IR Flock Sheet was developed for this problem: an electrostatically flocked rayon material whose carbon-containing fibre structure keeps total reflectance below 1 % across the whole 250–2500 nm range (AOI 8°) – 0.3 % @ 550 nm in visible light and about 0.75 % still at 2500 nm.

Applications
LiDAR development and sensor calibration
LiDAR systems operate in the near infrared and are sensitive to internal reflections, stray light and back-reflections from the test environment. IR Flock Sheet can be used in test setups, prototype enclosures, optical tunnels and calibration environments – more repeatable measurement conditions mean more comparable development data.
Driver and occupant monitoring (DMS / OMS)
Driver monitoring uses NIR illumination to track the face, gaze and head position under varying lighting. Reflective surfaces in the test setup distort results or produce false signals. A low-reflectance background makes the test conditions for NIR cameras and in-cabin sensors controllable.
Time-of-Flight and 3D cameras
ToF cameras measure differences in light travel time and are sensitive to multipath reflections. Covering non-essential surfaces with IR Flock Sheet reduces sources of error in depth measurement – useful in the development of 3D cameras, robotics and gesture recognition.
Machine vision and automated optical inspection (AOI)
In machine vision systems, reflections and stray light degrade recognition accuracy, particularly when the camera or the illumination works across visible light and the near infrared. As a background, a shield or the inner lining of an inspection station, the material improves contrast and stabilises imaging conditions.
NIR darkrooms, test chambers and NIR photography
Lining for large surfaces, curtains and backdrops for repeatable NIR test environments. The material is flexible and can be sewn into a curtain, so it also suits temporary setups.
An honest limitation – read this before ordering
We do not sell this into the wrong application. Two limitations worth knowing in advance:
- Fibre dust. Fine fibre dust can come loose from the flocking. The manufacturer advises caution if cleanliness is an absolute priority or the material goes inside a precision instrument. For those cases a fibre-free alternative is often better – tell us your application and we will point you to the right material rather than sell you this one.
- No space certification. No outgassing certification (e.g. ASTM E595) has been stated for the material, so it should not be assumed flight-qualified for space applications.
Manufacturer's note: the values are not guaranteed, and there can be slight variation between production lots. Figures marked with an approximation sign (≈) have been read from the manufacturer's 250–2500 nm measurement curve (August 2026). If you are building a measuring instrument, ask us for the numerical values and lot data.

Payment service terms
We use Paytrail, which is a safe payment method for you. Paytrail Oyj has a payment institution license granted by the Financial Supervisory Authority. The service is maintained by Paytrail Oyj (VAT FI21228397), and it is part of the Nets family.
The Paytrail payment forwarding service forwards your payment to the Noin webstore merchant. If your bank statement or credit card bill shows Paytrail Oyj, we have forwarded your payment.
Noin webstore acts as a marketer of products and services and as a supplier of products to the customer. The online store takes care of the legal obligations related to the sale, as well as other obligations defined by itself. If you want to make a complaint or return a product, you should contact the online store from which the product was ordered directly.

Bank charges
You can use the payment buttons of all Finnish banks. You can pay with the payment buttons of Aktia, Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, Nordea, Oma Säästöpanki, Osuuspanki, POP bank, Säästöpanki, S-banken and Ålandsbanken. Your bank statement shows Paytrail Oyj as the payee, we forward your payment to the online retailer. About webstore, you will be directed directly to your own bank to make the payment securely.
Credit card payments
You can pay in the online store with Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Debit MasterCard and American Express cards. The online store uses the international Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode and American Express SafeKey authentication services.
Paytrail Oyj appears as the recipient of the payment on the card invoice and forwards the payment card payment paid by the customer directly to the merchant. Card payment is made using a securely protected payment form, and the payment card information is not stored in the online store's systems.
Mobile payment methods
Mobile payment methods Pivo, MobilePay and Siirto are services that work in the application, with which you can pay for online purchases as a bank transfer from your account or as a card payment from your card by accepting the payment in the respective application.
Pivo also accepts Siirto payments, which means that the payment can be accepted in any application that supports Siirto. Apple Pay is a service that works on an Apple device, which allows you to pay for purchases with a payment card connected to the device.

You can pay for your order with OP Invoice , and through us you will also receive Walley invoicing, which for the time being only offers an invoice and partial payment option in our store for business customers. With OP Invoice, you get up to 45 days of interest-free payment time, or you can pay your invoice in installments and in smaller and more instalments. Dekoja.net – specialist products you will not find in every shop
Dekoja.net is a Finnish online shop built around three things: LPG for professional use, Musou Black materials and Engasco fire tables. The range also includes lighting and other design and lifestyle products.
We serve both consumers and businesses. We import most of our products ourselves, sell from our own stock and also deliver to other EU countries.
LPG for professional use
We deliver LPG to restaurants, grill areas, events and work machines: 5, 10, 11 and 33 kg cylinders as well as forklift and work machine gas. With the exchange service the driver brings a full cylinder and takes the empty one away on the same visit – in the Helsinki region delivery takes 1–2 business days.
We do not have a pick-up point; LPG is always delivered to you. In exchange we only accept Finnish LPG cylinders that are in use in Finland, are intact and serviceable, and whose periodic inspection is valid. See our LPG range.
Musou Black – official importer in Finland
We are the official importer of Musou Black products in Finland. Musou Black is a highly light-absorbing family of paints and materials made by Koyo Orient Japan (KoPro): the paint absorbs up to 99.4 % of visible light. The range also includes KIWAMI fabric, VL and IR Flock Sheet materials and the flame-retardant Fabric FR.
We do not claim that Musou Black is the blackest product in the world – figures from different manufacturers cannot be compared directly, because the wavelength range, angle of incidence and measurement method all vary. Engasco fire tables for terraces
We import Engasco fire tables from Croatia directly from the manufacturer for the terraces of restaurants, hotels and cafés. CE-approved gas-fired tables in four models. In the Helsinki region you can also get the LPG from us for the same site, so the fire table and the gas deliveries come from one partner. See the Engasco models.
Business sales and customised products
We also sell products and services to businesses. Our business range includes products that are not yet in the online shop – just ask and we will discuss your needs. Business customers can request an invoice against a business ID, and a fixed delivery price is agreed for recurring deliveries.
