Which Black Do You Actually Need?
There are two kinds of black. One is enough to fool the eye, the other fools the sensor as well. The difference is invisible to the naked eye — it only shows up on the meter, and by the time it shows up, it is usually already too late.
The whole choice comes down to one question:
Is a human looking at the surface, or a sensor?
If the answer is a human — a camera, a viewer, a photographer, an audience — there are four materials to choose from, and the choice is made by surface. If the answer is a sensor — LiDAR, machine vision, night vision, satellite optics — there is in practice only one option.
For the human eye: four materials, chosen by surface
These four absorb over 99% of visible light. All four also get brighter once the wavelength passes about 700 nm. That is not a fault — they are designed for visible light.

The differences in visible light are small. In practice the choice is made by surface type, not by percentage: liquid, woven, flame-retardant or flocked.
For a sensor: one material
If the surface is being looked at by a sensor that sees into the near infrared, the visible-light figures tell you nothing. At 950 nanometres the difference is drastic:

In visible light Fabric FR is a practically perfect black — and it reflects almost half of 950-nanometre radiation straight back. This is exactly why a material cannot be chosen on the absorption percentage alone.
IR Flock Sheet is the only material in our range that stays below 1% reflectance across the whole 250–2500 nm range. Applications: LiDAR calibration, satellite and star-tracker optics, optical darkrooms, ToF cameras, DMS/OMS, machine vision and AOI inspection.
One exception is worth knowing: if you only work around 950 nanometres and do not need a flocked sheet, Musou Black paint, at 2.0% reflectance, is clearly the best of the four visible-light materials. That does not make it a NIR material, but it is a usable figure for many purposes.

How to read the figures
- Absorption tells you how much of the light stays in the surface. Reflectance tells you how much bounces back. They are two sides of the same thing — the lower the reflectance, the higher the absorption.
- The absorption of the paint and the fabrics is stated for visible light. The 99.5% for IR Flock Sheet is measured across the whole 250–2500 nm range, which is a more demanding basis of measurement — in visible light its absorption is about 99.7%.
- The wavelengths tell you what each material does at different points of the spectrum: 550 nm is in the middle of visible light, 950 nm is the typical LiDAR and machine-vision range, 1500 nm is the near infrared.
- The figures are measured by the manufacturer (Koyo Orient Japan, September 2026, AOI 8°). The manufacturer notes that the values are not guaranteed values but typical measurement results.
The most common mistake
A material is ordered on the absorption percentage and only after installation does it turn out that the sensor sees the surface. The percentage is correct — it just applies to a different wavelength from the one the device works at. This is an expensive mistake, and it is easy to avoid by asking first: which wavelength is the decisive one here?
We will not sell you the wrong black
Dekoja.net (Noin Company Oy) is the official importer and Koyo Orient Japan's appointed distributor in Finland for Musou Black materials. The manufacturer lists us on its own Distributors page; in Finland there is one.
In practice that means we get the manufacturer's measurement data and documentation straight from the factory, including for demanding projects. Payment service terms
We use Paytrail, which is a safe payment method for you. Paytrail Oyj has a payment institution license granted by the Financial Supervisory Authority. The service is maintained by Paytrail Oyj (VAT FI21228397), and it is part of the Nets family.
The Paytrail payment forwarding service forwards your payment to the Noin webstore merchant. If your bank statement or credit card bill shows Paytrail Oyj, we have forwarded your payment.
Noin webstore acts as a marketer of products and services and as a supplier of products to the customer. The online store takes care of the legal obligations related to the sale, as well as other obligations defined by itself. If you want to make a complaint or return a product, you should contact the online store from which the product was ordered directly.

Bank charges
You can use the payment buttons of all Finnish banks. You can pay with the payment buttons of Aktia, Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, Nordea, Oma Säästöpanki, Osuuspanki, POP bank, Säästöpanki, S-banken and Ålandsbanken. Your bank statement shows Paytrail Oyj as the payee, we forward your payment to the online retailer. About webstore, you will be directed directly to your own bank to make the payment securely.
Credit card payments
You can pay in the online store with Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Debit MasterCard and American Express cards. The online store uses the international Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode and American Express SafeKey authentication services.
Paytrail Oyj appears as the recipient of the payment on the card invoice and forwards the payment card payment paid by the customer directly to the merchant. Card payment is made using a securely protected payment form, and the payment card information is not stored in the online store's systems.
Mobile payment methods
Mobile payment methods Pivo, MobilePay and Siirto are services that work in the application, with which you can pay for online purchases as a bank transfer from your account or as a card payment from your card by accepting the payment in the respective application.
Pivo also accepts Siirto payments, which means that the payment can be accepted in any application that supports Siirto. Apple Pay is a service that works on an Apple device, which allows you to pay for purchases with a payment card connected to the device.

You can pay for your order with OP Invoice , and through us you will also receive Walley invoicing, which for the time being only offers an invoice and partial payment option in our store for business customers. With OP Invoice, you get up to 45 days of interest-free payment time, or you can pay your invoice in installments and in smaller and more instalments. Please familiarize yourself with the credit terms and price list carefully before ordering.

About us and contact information
Dekoja.net – specialist products you will not find in every shop
Dekoja.net is a Finnish online shop built around three things: LPG for professional use, Musou Black materials and Engasco fire tables. The range also includes lighting and other design and lifestyle products.
We serve both consumers and businesses. We import most of our products ourselves, sell from our own stock and also deliver to other EU countries.
LPG for professional use
We deliver LPG to restaurants, grill areas, events and work machines: 5, 10, 11 and 33 kg cylinders as well as forklift and work machine gas. With the exchange service the driver brings a full cylinder and takes the empty one away on the same visit – in the Helsinki region delivery takes 1–2 business days.
We do not have a pick-up point; LPG is always delivered to you. In exchange we only accept Finnish LPG cylinders that are in use in Finland, are intact and serviceable, and whose periodic inspection is valid. See our LPG range.
Musou Black – official importer in Finland
We are the official importer of Musou Black products in Finland. Musou Black is a highly light-absorbing family of paints and materials made by Koyo Orient Japan (KoPro): the paint absorbs up to 99.4 % of visible light. The range also includes KIWAMI fabric, VL and IR Flock Sheet materials and the flame-retardant Fabric FR.
We do not claim that Musou Black is the blackest product in the world – figures from different manufacturers cannot be compared directly, because the wavelength range, angle of incidence and measurement method all vary. Engasco fire tables for terraces
We import Engasco fire tables from Croatia directly from the manufacturer for the terraces of restaurants, hotels and cafés. CE-approved gas-fired tables in four models. In the Helsinki region you can also get the LPG from us for the same site, so the fire table and the gas deliveries come from one partner. See the Engasco models.
Business sales and customised products
We also sell products and services to businesses. Our business range includes products that are not yet in the online shop – just ask and we will discuss your needs. Business customers can request an invoice against a business ID, and a fixed delivery price is agreed for recurring deliveries.
