Designed in Finland and manufactured in Europe, RuuviTag® is a compact, weatherproof open source Bluetooth sensor. By default, the sensor sends temperature, humidity, air pressure, movement and battery voltage information once per second. All mobile phones within Bluetooth range can receive this information.
RuuviTag® does not require a hub or gateway to work – all you need is a compatible Android or iOS device and the free Ruuvi Station mobile app from your app store. The sensor can be set up in minutes and data collection can begin. RuuviTag can be used almost anywhere and often the only limitation is your own imagination. Typical applications include houses, apartments, summer cottages, false and suspended ceilings and cold cellars. On construction sites Ruuvi can be used to monitor site conditions, and it also suits monitoring storage temperatures for food and drink. An almost unlimited number of RuuviTags can be used, and selecting the data of a specific sensor is easy in the app.
The Ruuvi Station mobile application shows the readings of nearby sensors in real time on your phone screen. You can follow the development of temperature or humidity and set scheduled alarms and notifications. Put a RuuviTag in the sauna, for example, and you will get a notification as soon as the target temperature is reached. The app can also notify you when the connection to a sensor is lost or the sensor is out of range.
Follow these instructions to start using your RuuviTag® sensor
1. Open the device cover with a flat-tipped tool, for example a screwdriver.
2. Remove the plastic tab from the battery.
3. Close the lid. For the best measurement result, place a breathable sticker over the environmental sensor.
4. Install the Ruuvi Station mobile application.
Ruuvi Station is available for both Android and iOS devices.
