Made from sustainable materials, it features FSC™ certified wood parts, lightweight and durable aluminum earcup housings and edges, and soft, high-quality silicone ear tips. The plastic parts are made from PLA bioplastic, which is made from plant-based starch, a renewable resource.

Materials

• Recyclable aluminum

Using recycled aluminum, a highly reusable metal, significantly reduces the amount of material entering the waste stream. The process of recycling aluminum has been in widespread use – in communities and at an industrial level – for over 50 years, saving energy and massively reducing global mining. Recycled aluminum is found in the speaker housings of the Uplift 2 Wireless headphones, for example.

• FSC™ certified wood

FSC™ forests are managed with respect for the environment, ensuring that harvested trees regenerate and regenerate naturally. FSC™ certified forests have earned a reputation for environmental credibility, conservation, healthy forestry, social commitment and the prevention of illegal logging. That's why Uplift 2 Wireless headphones use FSC™ certified wood as design elements.

• PLA – Bioplastic

Polylactide (PLA) is perhaps one of the best-known bio-based biodegradable plastics. PLA is made from D and/or L-lactic acid produced by fermentation. PLA is often rigid, brittle and transparent, similar to polystyrene. However, it is available in several different grades for different applications. There are grades suitable for both injection molding and extrusion. There are also grades that can withstand high temperatures. Many PLA grades are suitable for industrial composting. Polylactide can also be recycled both mechanically and chemically, and its resolution with NIR technology is excellent. That is why PLA bioplastics are used in the production of the Uplift 2 Wireless headphones.
